I bought this for my wife as at her age of 64 she was finding it difficult dismounting her Carrera Vengeance high step ebike whilst in the woods and tracks. I bought this bike from Amazon and not Hitway. Why? Because Amazon had the colour I wanted. Hitway didn't. Unfortunately as it turned out two days later Amazon seller didn't either which means they just get it direct from Hitway warehouse. Lesson learned. Anyway back to the bike. It came well packaged and took about an hour to build. Battery was charged enough for my wife to take a quick spin and she came back complaining the take off from standstill was too aggressive. I took a ride and she was right. The motor doesn't ramp slowly but kicks in violently. Almost like a motorcycle with half throttle. By feathering the brakes (by the way why are these bikes and others sold in the UK market with the front brake on the left. I thought UK regs the front brake had to be on the right) which disengaged the motor just enough to get round obstacles. So we went out together. There's a 10% hill near us and my wife went up that hill at 20mph. Not 20km/h but 20mph. And she was peddling slowly very slowly. I had to pedal like crazy to keep up. (Checked my GPS Speedo). She said she felt the motor wasn't duse gaging. So we went home and I put her bike on the turbo trainer. Right enough. If you are in PAS level 1,2 or 3 and start peddling the motor kicks in and if you surpass 25km/h the motor is still operating. Now that is illegal in the UK for going on public roads. So my wife was correct. The motor didn't disengage. I've contacted the seller (Hitway declare on their website they only give technical advice to customers buying direct from them) and because both Hitway tech support and the seller are based in China the tech support isn't good. Another lesson learned. I'm sure the seller contacts Hitway who then reply and then the seller tries to me. So far this hasn't worked as there's also the language barrier. Google translate is only so good. I was hoping that maybe the controller just needs a reset or to check the P settings in the menu but so far I'm still waiting. Which then begs why aren't these included in the manual as standard??
Anyway as I said it's a nice step through bike but no good if it doesn't meet UK regulations.

I recently received my BK16 Electric Bike, and I wanted to share my experience with you.

Firstly, the bike was delivered in excellent packaging, which ensured that everything arrived in perfect condition. As I unpacked and assembled the bike, I was impressed with the quality and smoothness of the ride. The BK16 is indeed a fantastic product, and I am enjoying my rides immensely.

However, I did encounter an issue with the gears. Upon assembly, I found that the 1st and 7th gears were not working properly. This required me to take the bike to a repair shop to get it fixed, which incurred additional costs.

Despite this minor setback, I am overall very satisfied with the BK16 Electric Bike. It performs well and has been a joy to ride. I look forward to many more enjoyable rides on my HITWAY bike.

After 15 days of use, nothing to say about this bike except that it arrived very well packaged. When used, the bike is well in hand, it does not “wobble” in bumps, feels “serious” in handling and is well finished.
To be confirmed if the announced autonomy is in accordance with the description but I recommend this bike.
